Default connecting midi keyboard to protools (sampletank)

Hello,
I'm trying to connect a midi keyboard to protools to be able to use sampletank.
Connected the keyboard to my 002, see midi coming in when playing keyboard.
Made connections from keyboard to 002 in audio midi set-up, see midi coming in there as well.
Made aux with sampletank plug-in and midi track with output on sampletank. With pencil tool i'm able to hear notes.
But with keyboard i see and hear nothing within protools. What am i missing here?

Thanks

Is 'MIDI Thru' in the MIDI menu checked?

You do or don't see the midi meter in Pro Tools? At first you said you saw it but at the end of your post you said you saw nothing coming into pro tools. What kind of a keyboard do you have? Make sure it's sendin on the correct channel.

Luck, that's what you're missing...just kidding. I have a similar problem. I'm using a 001 and SampleTank2 Free with an M-Audio keyboard connected via USB. I can get the midi signal into PTs using USB or MIDI connections, but nothing comes out of SampleTank. Set up is MIDI channel sent to SampleTank MIDI, which is plugged-in on an Aux track. My MIDI track shows signal (in record ready mode), the SampleTank window shows signal, but the Aux track shows nothing. And then there's the worse part. I lose all of my audio out. Seriously, I can't play other audio only sessions, but cause no sound comes out of my 001. I have to take apart my computer, remove the 001 card, remove all digi programs and plug-ins and reinstall all of them. Luckily I haven't had to reinstall all of Windows. So for now, SampleTank is out of the picture. I have Gigastudio3, but I want it on a dedicated computer, so I'll just wait it out.

Okay, so this doesn't help or answer your question really, but I thought I'd share my experiences.
