MIDI Keyboard and Reason through Protools
Hello,
I recently purchased a digi002 Rack on a mac OS 10.3.2. I'm running a full version of Reason 2.5 My question involves playing an external Midi controller and recording the notes into the Protools sequencer. The problem is that the notes are being recorded in the reason sequencer but not in Protools. What settings do I need to adjust in Protools to allow a midi track to record my realtime notes in the sequencer of Protools while still being able to send it to Reason? Thanks, Shane Soda |

Re: MIDI Keyboard and Reason through Protools
Make a MIDI track in Pro Tools. Record-arm it. I you have the keyboard setup correctly you should see meter movement if you play some notes on it.
Assign the output of the MIDI track to feed one of the devices loaded in Reason (NNXT, Redrum, etc). If you go into RECORD, Pro Tools will record the notes you play on the keyboard onto the MIDI track, and send the resulting data to Reason to trigger its sounds. As long as you have the Reason plugin up on a track in PT, you'll hear the resulting sound... whee! S..
