002R as audio card
Hello quick question. I have my keyboard hooked up to my 002r and i'm using monitor out for my output to my speakers. i want to be able to play the keyboard without loading up pt. Can this be done? i thought if i open the audio manager that, that would be enough, but that doesnt work. Any suggestions. basically i want to be able to use the 002r the same way that i use it for my dvd player and itunes, without loading pt.
thanks in advance. |

Re: 002R as audio card
I don't get whether you are using a hardware keyboard with audio outputs or a midi controller sending midi data to your computer. Assuming the first, you can use input alt src and select ALT SRC TO MON on the front panel of your 002.

Re: 002R as audio card
Hey, thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. Its a hardware keyboard (Triton) connected to my 002R inputs 1 & 2. The 002 is listed as my audio card for all other application (itunes/dvd) and when I boot up, it automatically opens up the DigiManager (or what ever its called). So I was wondering if the Mac 'sees' the 002R, how come I still have to open up PT to hear the sounds from the keyboard. Also, I have it set where the time(clock) is announce, which also tells me that the interface is considered 'active' even when PT is not launched.

Re: 002R as audio card
Try connecting it to the "ALT SRC INPUT" on the back (the RCA connection) and engaging the "ALT SRC TO MON" button on the front. You may need a RCA to 1/4" adapter for your keyboard side.
I use this configuration all the time if I just want to hear some tunes without booting PT. Good Luck

Re: 002R as audio card
Thanks again all. I hooked it up to the alt rc mon, but I'm only getting sound out the right side? I have two 1/4 to rca cables connected to this output.

Re: 002R as audio card
Weird.
Try engaging the "Mono" button. Do you get sound from both speakers then? If so, it may be a bad input connection or cable.
