I agree.

Try the gate, or limiter plugin.

What instrument(s) are you trying to dry out?

Default reverb removal plug-in

i have several recordings that were done in very live rooms. are there any digi001/win98 plug-ins that specialize in reducing the reverb and adding some attack to the mix. i know there is one called transient designer by spl but i don't know if it's protools compatable.

thanks.

Hi Van,

You may want to try using the gate plugin that comes with PTLE. Since reverb is usually lower in volume than the source audio a gate may help you.

bigredbutton,

i'm dealing with a couple different recordings. one was a 9 piece jazz group that was recorded in a very live auditorium w/ room mics only. the upright bass is especially muddy! the other is a rock gig recorded in a highly reflective chuch again recorded with only room mics.

thanks.

Removing Reverb is like trying to remove a tattoo. It can only partly be done, and what is left over is an ugly mess.
Best of luck, I'd like to hear your results!
