PT doesn´t play back pan-automation

Hi,

I´ve found that 7.3.1cs3 (and cs2) tend to stop reproducing pan-automation I write to tracks. I can hear the pan fine while writing a pass. Then all is fine when playing back but after playing over the section a few times, doing some edits here and there the pan just sticks at one speaker. A restart fixes it but it´s mostly random.

Bouncing is just roulette. Sometimes I have to recrecord 2-3 times, restart etc. till PT plays the automation like it´s supposed to.

Currently I found this when bussing mono-tracks to an LCR bus returned to an LCR-aux that goes to the interface.

When I open the channel-strip the pan-pots are not moving although the automation is there, neither suspended now decativated. There are no further plugs on these tracks.

Pretty scare when you do virtual mixes and do a layback and all sounds different every time you play over a section. Sometimes the pan stick left, sometimes in the center sometimes right then it will work fine again aver a couple of minutes.

sounds like it´s that exact bug.


I´ve also found that it seems to happen when working in touch mode. If you switch back to "read" the problem seems to go away.

Of course this isn´t a great way to write automation while in "read" mode.

We experience the same and i connect it with memory leak. Adding more memory delays but not eliminate the problem.
