Xpress Pro w/ LE for short film
Hello,
I am doing a short (8 minutes) animated film all CG being cut with Xpress Pro at 23.98 fps at resolution of 14:1s for an end product being scanned to negative. I am using Avid's mojo. I am wondering if people with experience on Pro Tools LE think LE might be a good tool for mixing my final sound. Sound will be in 5.1 and quality is very important. I would need to bring the final edit into LE to monitor picture while mixing sound. Is LE a good enough tool or should I be looking into a higher end Pro Tools hardware/software package? Thanks for any suggestions. Budget, as usual, is a concern here. tcable |

Re: Xpress Pro w/ LE for short film
You can't really do any surround mixing in LE. People have found a way to kind of do it in the past (you'd have to search the forum), but it's not something the software is set up to do - 5.1 surround mixing is an option that is reserved for the high end HD/TDM systems.

Check this link for surround setup in LE. It's still a pain, but it's a workaround.
