Electronic music production on PT mix (virus, etc)
I'm doing primarily industrial rock with external equipment and am looking to move to a Mix system for improved latency. I'd like to use TDM effects on the external instruments while tracking -- using PT as a digital mixer. Is anyone doing anything similar?
Is anyone using the virus indigo plugin? Are there any software samplers for TDM systems? How well does Ableton Live work with PT 6.4? Where does one purchase legacy plugins? Thanks |

Re: Electronic music production on PT mix (virus, etc)
The best sampler for a mix system was the samplecell cards. You would need to run Os9 and PT 5.1.3 to use them. Each card has 32MB of RAM, and with the TDM module card they stream 8 outputs per card directly into pro tools. There is virtually no latency with these cards because they are directly on the TDM bus.
I do have a few of these cards for sale if you are interested. There was also soft samplecell, which loaded the samples in your computer's ram instead of the dedicated cards. Also an OS9 only plugin though. |
