Default Render in Place Request....

Having come back to PT from Cubase Pro I do miss one thing in particular....

Cubase had a command that you could use to "render in place with previous settings"....so hit the shortcut and the render was done immediately. This avoids the dialog box PT throws up asking you for various settings. You could always also render in place the way it is now. Just speeds up workflow and retains the ability to change something if you want.....

Doesn't the PT dialogue box keep the last used settings (until a restart of Pro Tools)? If it doesn't, this might be a bug.

It does, but why have a dialog come up, then click OK, for the render to proceed? Easier to hit "RENDER" and it just renders....to me anyway. It only becomes irritating with me because I do a lot of work with VI's and throughout the session I am rendering them once I am happy with them, rather than leaving them in MIDI.....

So Cubase has a RENDER Settings (or whatever they call it) menu item you set up and from then on the command "Render With Current Settings" initiates an instance render. You can always change it.

Some people may not like to hear the suggestion of SoundFlow automation, but this sort of thing is very trivial to do. From 2021, here is a ready made example:

Don't forget Keyboard Maestro. Soundflow is cool, but for those of us tired of subscription. Keyboard Maestro and Streamdeck is a great automation and al alternate option.
