Default OT?Dubbing stage

Forgive me if this appears to be a little OT, but with so many seasoned Movie pros around here, I'd like to have your feddback on this:
1-What would be the minimal dimentions of a Movie dubbing stage?
2-Would you consider moxing without a mixer, only wiith a control surface and PT?
I'd really like to know.

MD

Marcel,
Since no one else has replied yet, let me try. You've heard the term"size doesn't matter" while others say "I like em big". We'll it holds true in Re-Recording. To some people the size doesn't matter. They are more concerened by what the crew has mixed and" The Vibe ". With tight budgets these days Producers are concerened about getting their money's worth. Then there is the other group who want the " BIG SIZE " so they can have a room to match their ego's. I think the best way is to provide the clients the best you can.You will catch some, while others will get away. As for mixing a Movie without a mixer,( you mean a console)at Monkeyland where I have worked recently we did a Movie for MGM called "Grand Theft Parsons" on 2 Control 24's and it turned out great. It can be done and is being done. See my link below and click on "facility" for pictures.

Sorry for this stupid question. Does 2 Control24´s, require 2 PT systems?

Sorry for asking even more stupid. But how do you end up with one left, right master track, or a 5.1 master, when working on 2 systems.

Pindebraende,
I mix Dialog and Music. The other Control 24 has FX and Foley. The outputs go to a Martinsound Multi Max EX for monitoring in 5.1, Dolby Suuround, Stereo or even Mono. We monitor the levels through a Dorrough custom built 5.1 metering system. When we Printmaster the output of the FX and Foley Control 24 is fed AES into the Dialog and Music Control 24 and is sent to the Dolby box (when Dolby is there) or to a Mastering machine like a D88 or whatever medium the client needs.
Hope this answered all your questions.
