audio interface upgrade

Hi

currently have mbox3 and a fried(out of operation) c600.

i was wondering if i should upgrade to something like a Liquid Saphire 56 or find a 8x8 mic pre to use with the mbox3 adat (if that can actually work).

i did like the two headphone outs on the c600 though

None of the Mbox units have ADAT, so that will be very hard to pull off.

What are your needs and your budget?

ya i just checked the mbox. i'm a tard.

anyways i was using the c600 and enjoying a di and two mics for acoustic guitar and was just getting started experimenting with 2-3 mics and a di for my electric in pt10.

i'm thinking around 1000$,

For those kind of dollars I would look for a used RME ff 800

If you only need four or so simultaneous inputs, consider the MOTU 4pre for $449, uses either FireWire or USB 2.0.

if i were to get something that has adat, could i possibly use an old digi 002 i have as 4 extra pres? or is the digi 002 getting too old to use as something like that.

I wouldn't get an 002 or 003. PT10 will be the last version to support them. If your only need a few I/O with ADAT, check out the RME baby face. But as mentioned MOTU also makes some similar interfaces in the same price range.
