Default OT: audiosoftware for the blind/visually impaired

For two dear friends, one blind since birth, the other (a photographer no less...) lost sight a couple of years ago, I'm looking for infor on audiosoftware that has been adapted or can be modified to be used by them, preferably with hardware control: faders, buttons and knobs.
I've seen there's some programs, like an adaption for Sibelius and Dancing Dot's Goodfeel, but both seem to be merely Braille Music Translators.

It surely must be possible to do simple PT-stuff using a dedicated controller with aid of e.g. spoken feedback? What about Live?

Default Re: OT: audiosoftware for the blind/visually impai

HI,

Apples OSX can read out Menu entries under the Mouse among other "speakable items" and respond to
spoken commands with the buit-in SPEECH feature in the System prefs. together with e.g. a special prepaired digi002 with ´blind scipted´ taps besides it´s controls
it may be possible for your friends to work with at least 8 tracks all by themselves.
(since the 002 has 8 deidicated faders)

though using plugs and sends might be harder to achieve.
