Default Decent cheap mic for scratch audio VO

My mic just crapped out. (A Shure 'Super Pro' PE505P, sort of a '58 copy.) I've been using it for scratch audio VO for multi-media projects at work. I was thinking of recommending that the company purchase a '57 to handle the chores. Any other recommendations I could give for VO work?

Something cheap but useful?

Thanks,

EjA

Cheap is imprecise - I just got an Apex 435. $75, and it's actually a darn good microphone. Some people say it compares favorably with Neumann TLM103. I sold my TLM103, so I can't compare them directly.

If, on the other hand, you're looking for a dynamic, just get a Shure.

If you're going to use an SM57, just put a popper stopper in front of it(or any other mic for that matter)
