Default Digi Tech Support - Error For Future CS Updates

Hello Digi Tech Support,

Thought I'd send this your way as it's the only error I've been getting since updating my OS X to 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 Yes, I know you don't support this platform yet, but this is for future CS updates.

The error I'm receiving is this one:

"The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurs frequently, try increasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine panel. (-6093)"

I have increased it to the maximum 1024 samples and have tried using different CPU Usage Limits but the error keeps occuring.

I have done all of the recommended procedures outlined here at the Digidesign website.

This is definitely a new error/bug since updating from 10.4.3, again, which was my fault for updating before Digi supported.

Thanks

Pt. 2

Same as above but when trying to get Pro Tools to run without an error stopping audio, the other error message is this one:

"The audio device buffer underflowed. If this occurs frequently, try decreasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine panel or remove other devices from the audio firewire bus.(-6085)"

Again, just something I've experienced that may be a fix for upcoming CS updates.

Thanks

Those error messages are discussed pretty often here and are not necessarily 10.4.5 related.
In fact, the majority here got them on supported OS levels, including myself very rarely when I was still running 10.4.2

But it could be that the latest OS X releases are increasing the probability of those messages, though. (So I didn't mean that starting this thread makes no sense)

Are you using a PowerMac G4 with the FW800 port? There is an issue with that model that gives you this message when you have ProTools and the 002 running with a FireWire hard drive attached to any of the built-in FW ports.

Also, connecting the 002 to the front FW port on a G5 has been known to solve this issue.

Check the Answerbase, and search for "6085".

Still, you may be right, this could be an incompatibility with the software.

Thanks for your suggestions. No, I do not have the FW 800 G4 so that isn't the issue, though thanks for that suggestion.

I've tried the Answerbase but no luck with the information that came up.
