Default USB HUB problem with MBox/Midisport 4x4

I'm having a crippling problem. The MBox cannot work through a USB Hub, but neither can the Midisport 4x4. Given that my G4 tower only has 2 USB ports in the back, I cannot plug my keyboard anywhere. in other words, it is simply not possible to use an MBox and a Midisport 4x4 on a mac with Jaguar? Help appreciated!!!

YES the MBOX can only operate when directly connected to a Mac USP port.

there are very few USB Hubs that work for audiotransfers. Griffin Technology builds one and there are others.

But it´s not guaratneed to work though. Use one Mac USB port for the MBOX and connet the hub to the other.

I run with my Mbox plugged directly into one port, and a Midisport 2x2 plugged into a generic cheapo USB hub that my mom got with her iMac 5 years ago. I'm also running my keyboard/mouse, printer and M-Audio sonica audio interface off the USB hub, and don't have any problems with any of them, they all work great and I have zero problems with MIDI timing or anything else for that matter.

There are two types of USB hubs, low power and high power. Make sure you are using a high powered hub that delivers 500ma, not 100ma. (this is the diff between the two)
