Default Just renewed my 2 Pro Tools Perpetual Licenses for Another Year...

Yup - like a crazy man I just spent $399 (Ultimate) and $99 (Studio EDU) of my hard earned green for yet another year. It's like taking five hundy and setting it on fire!!!

So Avid listen up. I've been a customer since 1998 and been putting up with your yearly perp renewal fee nonsense since you started it in 2015. This year, I liberated myself from Digi/HD Native hardware by getting a Mac M1 Ultra Studio and a Presonus 4848 interface - LOVE IT! Now I'm waiting on YOU to make your software Apple Silicon ready. BTW, all your competitors like Logic and Presonus have done that already. So accept my cash gift to you for the complete lack of product development this past year and start earning it. Here's what customers deserve in 2022-23...

1.) M1/M2 Apple Silicon ready
2.) Put out the Melodyne ARA - that's good, nice job!
3.) Your Inner Circle is now for Perp. holders - that's good. Too bad the included value-add software is pretty lacking in overall value - boost it up instead of just giving us more sales pitches from third party companies.
4.) Connect with customers on the DUC and YouTube - how about some real music making tutorials from real people who really use Pro Tools to create music? Don't just hire the flashy hot rap producers who mostly just want a big check, get some real learning going. Somebody like Joe Gilder who really communicates with great content.
5.) More innovative features - talk to your customers, look at your competition and build those features into Pro Tools. Ask anyone, you're way behind the times.
6.) Please update the Eleven Rack Editor software to work on Apple Silicon. Would be nice for a lot of us and probably not too hard to do.

Ok there you've got my cash and my free advice. Get to work and thanks!

Are you feeling any downsides after doing this (ditching the HD Native)?

None. I haven't found a better value than the Quantum 4848 for what it does and even was lucky to snag it off ebay used for $800. Works perfect. The only thing I gave up was AES/EBU I/O and no biggie really.

The Mac Studio is a great machine, very fast and capable of (in my case) running 3 LED monitors. I intend to have this computer for years to come.
