12.8.1 Mono To Stereo Track issues
Man there's some weird stuff happening.
Check this out : https://vid.me/9O6RI 1. New session, 2 new mono aux tracks, signal generator pink noise on each one 2. Put "H-Delay" mono-to-stereo on one, then bypass it. Fine yes? 3. Now put "GW Voice Centric" mono-to-stereo on the other one, and then bypass it. HOLY CRAP! What the hell's happened to the phase coherence between L and R? And this is with the plug-in in bypass! Good grief. |

Passing the buck now qualifies as an answer. Great.

Re: 12.8.1 Mono To Stereo Track issues
huh? Two plugins from the same manufacturer behave differently and that's passing the buck? Is this not a Waves issue? What am I missing?
Update: Just did the exact same test with D Verb and Mod Delay. All good. |

Re: 12.8.1 Mono To Stereo Track issues
The bypass functions on that plug-in is working just fine for the same mono-stereo setup in Logic, though that's an AU version obviously. (Same plug, different wrapper? )
Just annoyed. Apologies for being grouchy. |

Its Bypass, Jim, but not as we know it..
I've noticed unreliable bypass behaviour in the past on mono/stereo plugs so unless I'm automating bypass have incorporated Cmd+Ctrl deactivation into my workflow

It is yes, but does the same when switched off. I like your thinking though.

Re: 12.8.1 Mono To Stereo Track issues
If those plugin take a few samples to do their thing it is normal for the phase to be affected, bypass doesn't stop the processing which means that the audio is still delayed, some other plugins fail to report latency correctly to the DAW and that's, I think, what Drew was talking about.
Can you post a screenshot where we can see the ADC box of the tracks?

No other plugin I've tried does this behaviour going from mono to stereo, so it must be another rogue Waves special. (Even though it works fine in Logic). ADC, for what its worth : http://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?a...1&d=1504283988 |
