Default Issue importing PT10 bounced stereo file into FCP

Hey guys! Hoping you could help out with a frustrating issue...

My workflow first:
I am doing some mixing/post work for an indie film. I get the video and audio files from the editor exported out of FCP. I do the mix, and bounce the files to 16bit 48kHz stereo interleaved WAV files.

The editor imports the finished audio and lays back to picture.

This is my third project with this editor, and we have been using this workflow very successfully.

The issue:
Right before the start of this new project, I upgraded to PT10. All previous work was done in PT9 with no issues.

I did my work, and bounced the files as usual. However, the editor was unable to import the files into FCP. She received the following error:

File Error: 0 Access Denied. 1 Unknown

She tried it on multiple versions of FCP on multiple workstations.

The files play back everywhere else with no issues. The issue occurs with both WAV and AIFF files. FCP is the only app that isn't happy.

I was able to get the files to import by using the "copy to" feature in Wave Agent to copy them to another folder on the same HD.

I am guessing that there is something that PT10 writes into the file header that FCP does not like, and that Wave Agent is rewriting the header... Does this sound plausible?

It's only 1 step added to my workflow to make this work, so it's something I don't mind doing, but I would really like to resolve the issue.

Have any of you seen an issue like this? Is there a better way to resolve it?

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information to help troubleshoot.

Thanks!!

-Josh

Well, not sure, but it sounds like a FCP issue, and maybe better solved on that forum... I have recently given audio bounced from PT 10.2 to editors who work in FCP with no issue.

Sorry no solution but maybe helps in troubleshooting...

Thanks for the reply!

I am sure it is a FCP issue. I'm just casting a wide net in the hopes of finding a solution faster.

Are you using PT10 on a Mac or Windows?

I am using PT10 on Win7, and that may be a contributing factor...

Yeah Ive not had any issues...

It sounds like the FCP editor doesn't have access to the disk or folder... or maybe they need to be running as an admin for permission purposes... something like that

Either way Id check with the FCP forum.

we are transferring the files via dropbox, and the workaround files i sent work. Since they are getting them from the same place and saving to the same location on their machine, a permissions issue is unlikely.

I forgot to add that if I try to import the same files into my copy of FCP, I have the same issue! It's not just the editor.
