Pro Tools MP Quits Unexpectedly at Launch

Here is a problem I'm having, along with a temporary solution.
I would be interested to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

I have newly installed Pro Tools MP9, with an M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB interface.

If the Apple Mail application is running, Pro Tools will quit unexpectedly at launch. Splash screen will appear briefly, but no information is displayed, such as plugins loading etc. Then shortly afterwards, it quits with dialog box "PRO TOOLS MP QUIT UNEXPECTEDLY...."

My solution:
It seems like I can start Pro Tools first without Mail running, and THEN start Mail...and it will function ok.
I have not tested this extensively, but it may at least be a temporary solution for people like me who like to check their email while recording:)
