How to Config PT 8 & Akai LPD8

I need to find a basic midi config for PT8 & LPD8 pads. There's 4 presets but not really understanding (except for the Ableton preset). Would like the basics to config them together

hi, i'm having sort of the same problem. I can't get my PTLE8 to recognize the usb port for the akai lpd8. When I pull it up in the mss, it doesn't give me an option to select it, just the mbox or none. Can anyone out there help?


Oh yeah, how do I include a screen shot so someone can see what i'm talking about?

I tried to help someone with an lpd8 in this thread, but he never posted if he got it working. Maybe something in there will be of use to you..

You have to use something like photobucket if you want to post a screenshot, the forum doesn't allow pictures..

Yeah, for about a week (yeah I know i'm new), I couldn't get PTLE8 to recognize my usb port, or the akai. I had reinstalled the driver disk a few times with no success, but had not done an un-install for the previous times. And when re-installed made sure to file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\DigiDesign\LPD8Editor. Then when I ran in PT again, it did show up in the MIDI SETUP. I was also able to pull it up in the track area.

My problem now is whenever I have EZdrummer running as Instrument in track, and akai LPD8 selected, I still cannot get the trigger to work. Yes, I have used the editor, an uploaded the default midi set. I'm sure with some more tinkering and DUC, i'll find it. Hope this helps a bit, and if anyone else can help me, or just point me in the direction of good tutorial or books for a begginer, so I don't waste my money on junk. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP EVERYONE!

I dont what kind of PC, but on my HP pavilion, if ya hold fn, and home/prt sc, then copy, go to say Word or whatever documents you use, and paste, it will paste it there, and you should be able to send it from there, Probably, a lot easier way, but it works! Just a thought!
