pro tools 6.4 launch unexpectedly quits

whats going on. hopefully someone can please help me out with this problem. everytime i try to run protools it loads up and unexpectedly quits. it gives me the error message "pro tools l.e has unexpectedly quit" this happens everytime on the launch. i am running pro tools 6.4 digi 001 rack on a mac g4 dual processor with osx panther version 10.3.2. any ideas??? thanks in advance

First thing I would do is repair disks, permissions, and use Applejack to clear caches/swap files.

I would then download, and run the 10.3.8 combo update. Don't have anything else open when it's running, and don't even touch the Mac while it's in the optimization phase.

I would then downoad, and run the PTLE 6.4 cs, and plug-in updates.

I use 10.3.9 with 6.4cs9, but if you go that far do not update QuickTime beyond 6.5.2, and realize that it's not officially supported by Digi. Works fine for me, and others though.

yo m.b thanks for the advice mayne. i really appreciate it. i thought i had already ran a repair but it didnt seem to work. whats the best way to run repair on mac??? im more of a p.c guy so im not to savy with this machine???? also whats applejack and how do i run it??? sorry for the ignorance,but im not to familiar with macs. hope u can help me out. thanks again

To repair your boot drive you need to boot from an OS install disk or another drive.

You can also use Applejack to repair the boot volume if you don't have another bootable disk available.

i have done everything mentioned above. I ran applejack,i dowloaded the the 10.3.8 update i downloaded the cs plugin updates and the pt 6.4 cs and im still having the same problem??? can anyone help me with this now???? m/b thanks for all the great advice,got anymore???
