Preamp on top of Monitor?

Hey Hey!

Just picked up a pair of Mackie HR824 monitors.

I've got them sitting on Auralex MoPads.

Considering vibration issues... Bad idea to put ANYTHING on top of them? (how about with foam rubber in between?)

Considering magnetic issues... Bad idea to put a Preamp on top? Headphones? A pair of Auratones? A Hard Drive? Vintage Mics?

i believe that the mackie's are shielded, so the magnetic issue shouldnt be a prob---but i would not recomend puting anything on top of them that is too heavy, it may change the sound characteristics--i suppose the ideal would be to have monitors magically floating in the air

don't put a hard drive on top or any magnetic media, (cassett tape, zip disk, DAT, etc...) don't take the chance of having your data wiped by magnetic fields.
