808 bassline

Does ANYONE know how to create an 808 bassline in pro tools? All the videos online utilize other DAW's and I have yet to find one that shows how on pro tools.

do you mean Kick Drum or Bass Guitar ??

we could use a little more info on the Tools that you have to use ..

do you have a software sampler, like Kontakt ??

would you like to do this with just audio clips ??

No he means 808. He wants to use an 808 kick to make a pitched bassline like they did 25 years ago in Jungle.

There really was no need to start another thread about this OP. That other thread you started has a video showing how to do it with a kick layered on a filtered square wave, which for the record is incorrect. An 808 is a sine wave. Using a square wave will give you extra harmonics but it's not the sound of an 808.

Regardless, the technique is the same in any DAW. The DAW is not the issue. Apply the same techniques used in the video in Pro Tools. Grab any synth and just do the same things in the vid.

FWIW - it's a very easy thing to create, but if you're really struggling with it, do it the old fashion way and simply use an 808 sample and play it polyphonically.
