Default MBOX 2 PRO USING FIREWIRE 800 DRIVES - STILL NOT COMPATIBLE?

Wondering if the MBOX 2 PRO is still not compatible with FW 800 dirves?

Does anyone know?

Mmmm... I wouldn't say not compatible. However, depending on the machine, the firewire ports might all be on the same buss internally. I would recommend either a firewire card for a desktop (for the Mbox), or ExpressCard for an Intel MacBook (Pro), or PCMCIA card for other, older Mac laptop. (or whatever they use)

Using two seperate busses would cure the problem

unfortunately, i have an iMac. = 1 FW400 & 1 FW800
no available FW expansion options.

what you describe is a work-around that actually supports the theory that MBOX 2 PRO is not compatible with FW 800 drives.
