what am i hitting? edit functions problem

Hello

Every once in a while i go to duplicate a region, or paste something and.... nothing happens.
Even in the drop down menu, the functions of copy paste etc are greyed out.

I realise i must be inadvertently hitting some shortcut on the keyboard which is doing this. The litte 'a/z' shortcut button is highlighted in the edit window. everything seems to be normal. but no edit functions. so i just restart pt and its all back to normal.

This doesn't happen all that often but its so annoying when it does that i really have to get to the bottom of it!

any help?

Shot in the dark, but is your selection "letting go"? IOW, is audio highlighted?

it sure is. (I'm editing audio day in day out... )

I can't recreate this problem. It just sporadically happens and when it does i'm really stumped!

i still can only guess that i'm accidentally disabling some function somehow... next time it happens i'll make a screen cast recording and post it.

Hmmm...hope you can figure it out! I wonder if the keyboard is losing touch with PT(and thinking another program is being connected to)

I had this a few times - usually happens after I use the search workspace..

making sure the workspace search is closed usually cures this glitch for me/
