Default using 001 s/pdif output to 002 input and ADAT

I would like some input as to the potential problem recording on PTLE with all 18 available inputs. I know when I use my Apogee Rosetta with lightpipe into the 002 I need to use the clock source from the ADAT (Rosetta). So if I use the lightpipe input and the s/pdif to arrive at the maximum of 18 simultaneouly recordable channels will I have clocking issues? Or will the ADAT automatically feed the s/pdif for a glitch-free session? Or maybe I need to chose the s/pdif as the clock source? Help please, need this resolved by Saturday. Thanks -Brian

Do I understand correctly that you want to record 2 tracks from the 001 via SPDIF to the 002, in addition to the 8Ch Rosetta 800 obviously set as master clock via Lightpipe?
Then you'd need to use a second SPDIF cable connecting the 002 out to the 001 in and set the 001's clock source to SPDIF (=002)

That setup is a bit confusing as you'd need 2 separate PT LE instances for running the 001 and 002 simultaneously.
So out of interest, how do you sync both PT sessions? Is there some way via MIDI time code?

Default Re: using 001 s/pdif output to 002 input and ADAT

I am not going to use the 001 anymore. I will be using the 8 audio ins on the 002, 8 audio ins with my Rosetta 800 thru ADAT and 2 audio ins thru s/pdif from an Aphex 2 channel mic pre model 207D. I have only used 16 channels with the ADAT ins. I have never used the spdif in while using the ADAT too. Do you see a problem I may encounter and do you know how I should set the clocks?

Thanks
-Brian
