Default Question on editing automated events...

Although this is a protools question i will use reason as an example to explain proberly what i mean... I guess most people in here are pretty familliar with reason!

So you guys know that usually in reason in the midi-editing window you'll see the values of the velocity down beneath the keyboard sequencer as a default... This is also the case in protools. Now when recording in reason and tweaking the knobs reason will automatically display all the graphical events for every single knob that has been tweaked on the tracks for the particular devices...

Now when i'm doing the same thing in protools, tweaking a knob on my hardware- or software- synth which is hooked up to the Digi 002 interface with midi-cables,protools does not show me the event of the knob that has been tweaked or the events of any automated knobs... Now it is simple if i'm tweaking the mod-wheel to just quickly find and choose to display the events for the mod-wheel, but a lot of other events that may or may not be hooked up to a standardized midi-event function (or what ever it's called) can be difficult to find...

Is there not some way of getting protools to display the events for all the knobs that have been touched automatically simmilar to that function in reason?

If no, is there some sort of easy way to find and recognize the events for specific knobs that has been tweaked, and maybe giving those some names, like filter-cut, resonance or waveform for instance?

Cheers,
Morten

P.s. Sorry if i've posted in the wrong forum, after posting i realized that it should probably have been posted in the tips & tricks section... My bad...

Morten, short answer to this is, no, sorry, it has been an asked feature for sometime. Although, that said, with the new 003, Continuous Controller Maps can be saved as Presets, so... it's a start.

But your right, it is a royal pain in the posterior.

Submit a Feature Request Form.

Cheers,
Morten

If you record any knob turn for a particular midi device, it should show up in the event list. Then you can add that cc number into your midi automtion list.

That it does.

That it does, by default.

Point is, you can't rename the CC for identification.

Ah yes, and that is rather a pain.
