why does masterfader indicator clip and the plug / 888 not ?

Hi ,

Maybe a stupid question..

My peak indicator on master fader clips sometimes but the inserted ff limiter indicator does not.
On other plug ins like digilimiter or maxim its also o.k.

On the focusrite i have app. headroom about 2 db. - attack short ass possible.
Masterfadervolume is about - 4 db. Postfader metering enabled.
The indicators on the 884/24 are only yellow.

Can someone tell me what happens ?
