EurekaProm FCB1010 Wah Switch Mod

I recently added a footswitch to one of the expression pedals of my EurekaProm modded FCB1010 midi board. When in 'effects' mode it allows the wah to be engaged in the same way as a conventional wah (Crybaby etc) - i.e. toe forward on the expression pedal to switch on the wah. It avoids the small dance routine going from footswitch 5 to the pedal and back...

It works fine - just like a Crybaby!

It would be good if switch 5 (and hence the new mod switch) also worked the wah in 'preset' mode. That would avoid having to be in 'effects' mode in order to easily switch the wah in and out. That would involve a new eprom or I guess...

It would be convenient if the FCB1010 was manufactured with programable switches under the expression pedals!

Nonetheless, this mod works fine.

Most importantly - the EurekaProm is a great mod for the FCB1010 - a really practical alternative to the original that suits the 11r perfectly! Thoroughly recommended.

I was recently looking for a firmware update for the fcb and I found the UnO chip much more attractive than the Eureka prom. Just wanted to tell anyone looking for an upgrade to the fcb that there are more options than the Eurekaprom.
The new upgrade board at www.lg-fcb.com will be a killer, but is too expensive to me.

Me too. The Eureka prom required too much of a tap-dance to do what I want to do - it just didn't work the way I do. That would have been fair enough if you could go in and edit it, but no. The UnO was not only closer to what I needed, but was also editable.

That expansion board might be cool, or it might not - they don't give many details on what it does or what it would allow the FCB to do.

Tried out the editor for the new board... It´s really nice. About the only thing missing is some clever way adding a wah switch without occupying a regular switch.

The Eureka Prom has a Programmable mode.
