Default Nickelback rig

Yep, you guessed it....I made another rig fer us 11Rack bros!

This time it's Nickelback, using the song 'Animals'. I did a soundclip with the song panned hard RIGHT and me playing the rig I made panned hard LEFT.
Here is the soundclip...http://soundcloud.com/mikefont/animals-2

And here's the rig to upload if you like... http://www.elevenrackpresets.com/Details/416.html

I used my Les Paul with the Pearly Gates bridge pup's, and the rig is using the Treadplate Modern + Classic 30 cabinet with the Dyn 7 mic ON axis, and a touch of EQ.

I got more up my sleeve to come, cause I'm having a blast doing these and my woman is actually enjoying these too (and she is also a good liar, for what it's worth)

Later guys
Mike

Are those the drums from the actual recording or did you add them too?

The actual recording itself is panned hard right. I only added the guitar rig that I'm playing panned hard left for comparison, to show how the rig sounds against the guitars from the original track.

Peace

Hey guys, FWIW...I redid the soundclip since the original one I uploaded had a phasey sound to it, and made it hard to make out how the rig sounded.

The NEW soundclip sounds MUCH better to me, and it is here...http://soundcloud.com/mikefont/animals-2

And if you want to download the rig, you can find it here...http://www.elevenrackpresets.com/Details/416.html

Sounds very scarily close. The only thing I can pick up on is a slight post eq (?) dip in the lower mids of the original, not sure if this is with the amp or not. The mix of the two different eq'd amps sound very good though, one darker and one brighter (I am only talking marginally different though).

Nice work dude! I'll download this patch and check it out.

Honestly, I don't like Nickelback, but every time this song comes on the radio, I get pumped, then realize it's Nickelback, worry about being cool and... well I always finish the song. So this is there one exception for me.

The tone sounds a bit familiar to other Three Days Grace songs too, which I like, so I'll definitely play around with it.

Good ears there rhys! The only eq I had on it was the graphic EQ pedal after the amp with a slight dip on the lowest end, and a slight bump on the midrange frequencies. I was kind of surprised at how much midrange was actually on his tone. I know that they record multiple guitar tracks to thicken up the tone, and I found that when I panned the song hard left or hard right, the top end of his guitar tone would disappear!
So I'm guessing that they spread a couple of guitar tracks wide left and right for thickening, and placed a more midrangy high end track in the middle.

It took a bit to try and get close with only one guitar rig, so I'm glad that you like it.

I love Nickelback and there guitar tone. That's interesting about the hard panned left and right then one up the middle. I don't have an 11r but I'd love to achieve this tone with my kemper any advice on the amps they use and a ruff EQ wise tip :)
