Default Is longer Digi001 interface cable in any way detrimental?

I would like to replace my current 3 or 4 ft cable that connects my Digi001 to my PC with a 15 to 20 ft cable. Could this cause any negative effects at all? Delays, latency, signal degradation, anything?

The heel of the 001 is that the power lines are right beside the digital lines, so the longer the cable the dirtier the power supply is, but really the damage is already done inside the computer itself, just like with any bus-powered interface. Either the power supply from the computer is reconditioned in the interface with a switching power supply (ie RME interfaces) or it isn't. If memory serves, the 001 only has passive noise filters.

So the short version of all that is that the longer cable doesn't help, but go ahead.

I apologize for my ignorance here. I'm having trouble understanding your answer. Are you saying that the type of cable/connection between the computer and the Digi001 is inherently bad by design, but getting a longer cable isn't going to make it any worse than it already is?

I think he's saying it won't improve the situation but try and see how it works
