Play From Edit Start working on one session but not another

Hi all


Hopefully someone can help me out with this:


I use Play from Edit Start all the time but interestingly it's not working on an session I recently pulled up. It is still working in other sessions, btw.



I've gone through and tried to make sure that all of the relevant settings I can see are matching between the two sessions and it seems the settings are matching. However, something must be different and I can certainly be missing something.


To be clear, the key command is returning the playback back the the edit start, but playback is stopping almost immediately. I tried increasing buffer and no change.



Throwing this out into the DUC universe to see if anyone else has experienced this problem and may have some insight.

Hi There!

There might be some part of the file that got messed up. Two things you can try. One is to delete your Pro Tools Prefs and see if the same issue occurs, another is to create a new session and import the one that has issues and see if the same happens.

Thanks for your reply!


I seem to have found a pattern where these are old sessions that I've been importing new data that are experiencing this problem while current sessions are not exhibiting this issue, so your advice is really spot on!


I will create new sessions for these projects and hopefully that will resolve the issue.
