Loss of audio

Over the last couple of days I've started having a problem with my Pro Tools 10 which I'm not sure if it's related to any of the system/playback settings or if it might be a programme fault. Every now and again I'll hit play and one of the tracks will pop/clip and then no audio is heard from any of the tracks, and the one that popped will show no level while the rest do. No dialogue box appears once this has happened and the session needs to be closed and re-opened for audio to be heard again.
Is it just a simple fix that I'm missing or might it actually be a programme problem?

I am also having a weird ADC issue on a couple tracks in one of my sessions. This same session was done in pro tools 9 and did not have the issues. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=312284

As for your issue, I don't know how to fix it, but what if you set your I/o the way you want, export the settings to save them, then just import them in your new sessions when pro tools changes them.
