Default Dramatic loss in output volume after running registry scan

I ran a registry scan after receiving run time error messages when trying to import audio in PT10 and then opened a session and noticed a volume decrease of over 50%. I reinstalled the Mbox3 Driver , checked my control panel settings to make sure the MBOX was selected as my recording and playback device, and then uninstalled and re-installed PT10. Still the same. Is it possible that the MBOX 3 could have been damaged by hot swapping when trying to rectify a previous problem wherein PT defaulted to a PodXt as the playback and recording device. Hopefully the Mbox three is bullet proof, as some WAV files I've played outside of PT sound fairly normal. Any insight would be welcome.
