Mbox (3G) is receiving signal, making white noise, and clipping while sitting idle.

Hello,

Since yesterday the green/red input lights on my Mbox started flashing and are constantly making white noise and cliping while sitting idle. There is nothing connected to the inputs. This happened suddenly without changing anything.

I have tried power cycling, restarting my system several times, changing the input switches from front to back and front again. Completely disconnecting the Mbox and then reconnecting it. Restarting my system again. Opening Pro Tools. Opening other applications. Restarting again....So far, I have not found a solution.

There is constant white noise and clipping sounds coming out of my speakers even when there are no applicaitons open and the system is sitting completely idle.

Please advise.

I have got the same issue...See the thread I have opened. I have nothing connected to my mbox and 1 minute after switching on the computer I have got the leds on both channels lighting up red all the time. I have it since yesterday and it came suddenly. Same like in your case. Have you managed to solve the issue already? Please let me know your thoughts.
