Default G5 date and time issue

I have a G5 1.8 dual processor with 2Gigs of memory 2 internal hard drives of 80 Gigs and 500 Gigs, recently I noiticed that everytime I turn on the G5 i Have to reset the date and time, I have it plug into a search protector at nite i turn the power of the search protector off, I dont know if this is causing this or is there something wrong with the G5,
