Default Splitting DVI monitor signal to multiple displays from MAC Pro?

On all the stages here we have a main station for the mixer, as well as a side station for editors/assistants to be able to easily access the system and fly material in during mixes... the second station is simply a split of the two main monitor feeds, along with a second keyboard and mouse...

Some of the stages are being migrated from Windows based PT systems to MAC based. In the process, the DVI splitter that was used to split the monitor signal to two displays no longer works (the display shows static for 3 seconds then the mac desktop for 1/2 second, then static, etc).

I contacted tech support for the splitters (which claim MAC compatibility), and they blame the EDID data that the dvi splitter prevents from passing-- sending the MAC haywire. They gave me two utilities to download to disable the EDID check on the MAC: however neither piece of software seemed to offer that ability...

So now I'm stuck: I have migrated one stage to MAC and am now unable to use the secondary station.

Is there a DVI splitter that you've used with Leopard/Intel Mac Pro machines that work?

Thanks
