Default Reinstalling XP Pro, going from 7.3 to 7.4 question
Hi im about to nuke my machine with windows xp. Ive had alot of weird problems in the past as some of you know on here. So im going to go ahead and reinstall xp and upgrade to 7.4. Anything i need to know? I will be getting SP 2 again of course are there any updates from Microsoft i shouldnt get or should get? Can i just install the newest version of 7.4 or do i need to have 7.3 installed first? btw im running Mpowered as well. thanks

I'd skip SP2 and go for SP3.

7.4 is a full installer. You will be prompted to uninstall any previous version.

Hi, thanks JMS40 for the info. So SP3 is totally compatable now ith 7.4? no need for sp2 anymore.

SP3 has the dual core hotfix built in so thats a plus.
