Default Waves Plugins on PT7

Having recently upgraded to version 7 software I'm really pleased with the results except.....

while using a WAVES plugin from the Audiosuite menu and the preview button, whenever i make a change to any parameter, playback stops. This means that I can't make real time alterations and hear the effects. I didn't have the problem when I was working with 6.9. Any ideas please?

Hi Jeremy,
I've experienced the same thing at a couple of studios I've freelances at. I just ended up re-recording audio to a track because I didn't have the time or the access to Waves tech department. Do you think you can call or write Waves and see what the problem is and report back here? I'd like to buy a bundle or 2 but will not until the AS problem is resolved because I audio suite a lot of regions in my sessions.
Thanks,
Brandon

The only work-around that I have found is this:

Put a TDM version in Insert A of the waves plug-in you want on the track you want.
Make your adjustments in realtime.
When you are happy, save it as a preset,
open up the AS version of the Plugin,
recall the preset,
select and process your audio.

Not graceful but it works.

Sounds like a lot of work and extra steps. Digi and Waves need to answer this post.

I'm glad it's not just me then! Yep, I have been using a similar workaround, but as you say, it is not the best way of working. I think I'll try contacting WAVES now I know that it is a shared problem. I'll keep you posted.

OK here's the answer. After just spending over $300 to update my WAVES Update Plan, I can now make use of the WAVES tech support. After outlining the problem I got this reply...

***
This is a known issue with a high fixing priority (no ETA, though).

In the meantime, here is a simple workaround:

1. Insert the plug-in on the audio track in real-time.
2. Make your settings.
3. Save it into preset menu.
4. De-instantiate the plugin from the audio track.
5. Open the plug-in in Audiosuite.
6. Load the preset from the menu and process.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Money well spent then!!??

Weird tho is that their fancy plugs like the guitar tool rack work like they should even in audiuosuite.
