deleting part or all of a track

can anyone instruct me on how to delete part or all of a track? all i know to do now is "undo" but if i have done ten other things before i decide to do a deletion i have to go through ten undo 'cycles', so to speak. how do i jus choose the track then delete it? thanks.

For a full track delete:

Click on the track you want to go away.

Go up to the top, click on "track" from the file menu, and there is a delete option.

For a partial, just highlight the part you want gone, and hit delete..

Kinda makes sense & nottttt @ the same time... U say u wanna know how to delete a track, yet u say if u've done 10 other things then u have to undo 10 things...

OK, well to delete, u just highlight & press what is called the Delete button?

To permanently delete it from ur HD, just press Cmd-shift-b & then Cmd-shift-u & u will get further instructions which a manual or search would also say...

& if I'm wrong about the shortcut I'm sure I will be corrected... I work on PC & have to be sittin @ a mac to remember the SC's accurately...
