Default DAE 35 Error from FW 800 drive

On a New 2.2 Mac Book Pro with PT 9.03 and Snow Leopard 10.6.7. 4 Gigs of Ram

I have a session that is 1.6 Gigs in size that is on a Freecom 7200 RPM FW 800 drive.

It has only five stereo tracks and I am not running any plugs at the moment. Spinning ball for a few minutes and then DAE 35 Error shows up.

When I copied the same session to my Mac Pro HD, it runs smoothly with minimal Disk Usage and System usage. Any ideas??

Thanks

Paul

What interface are you using (FW interface?), how is the interface and disk drive connected in relation to each other?

I forgot to mention I am using this on the road so only using built in audio.

Your drive is possibly going bad. Backup everything to another drive.

You can try formatting it with zeros. It might find some bad blocks.
You might also want to check out drive genius.

I would agree with the previous post, if nothing else but the drive is on the FW port, I would suspect the drive.

Thanks for the responses.

It is a brand new drive, so maybe something wrong with it.

Disk utility did say it had a problem, but I deleted what few files were on it and successfully repaired it.

The only way to know for sure if a drive is good, new or not, is to do a full zero format.

Disk Genius will run a sector block scan and write data on bad blocks.

IT takes some time, but it is worth it. New doesn't mean it will be fine.

The fast format isn't a secure thing.

Hmm....the FREECOM drive seems to play back "The Numbers Game" demo in logic with no problem.

40 tracks of Audio and soft synths.

Could there be some other problem here?

Doesn't matter. Playing the other daw game is going to cost you your data.

So don't say I didn't warn you.
