Default Can I use Both Madi and 96 I/O on one HDX occasionly?

I know HDX is only 64 I/O. If I connect HD MADI to HDX and connect 96 i/o to HD Madi,

1.can I use hd madi for 64 input i/o and 96 i/o stereo output? We know HDX is 64 input and 64 output right?

2. If I use HD madi for 64 input, but there's actully only 40 channel inputs , then I also use 96 i/o to get another 8 channel inputs, is this possible?
