Default CPTK 2 -- Testing The Waters

Hello All,

I have 11HD software and I also have a second license of 10 with CPTK 2. Reading the tea leaves, it seems like Avid will be introducing a subscription-based model for PT, as they have for Media Composer, so I have to decide if I want to maintain two licenses for what is basically an expensive hobby for me (I'm a picture editor). Is there any interest in a CPTK 2 license, and what's it worth these days? I am probably going to pare my licenses down to the essentials to cut costs.

They still go for about 450-600 don't they?

I just looked at completed auctions on eBay, and it seems like they're going for more than that; probably because Avid doesn't sell it anymore. I see one sold for $700 and change in July, but more recently they're going for upwards of $1k.

My problem is: over the last couple years I've worked to accumulate two duplicate sets of HD capable PT and matching high-end plugins. Honestly, I'm not even sure why, except to have it on both my laptop and my desktop, but I never need to use it on more than one machine at a time and I'm not really in the rental business...so if I sell CPTK 2, I have to sell a gazillion plugins as well, because I'll have no further use for the duplicates. Sounds like a major PITA, but so it goes, I guess.

In a bit I'll add a list of plugins and see if anybody is interested in the whole shooting match, or if I need to piece-meal it out.

Here's the full list of duplicate plugins I've accumulated, in addition to the CPTK license:

Avid CPTK 2
Avid Reverb One
Flux Elixer v3
Flux HEar
iZotope Insight
iZotope RX3 Advanced
iZotope Alloy 2
McDSP Analog Channel Native v5
McDSP NF575 Native v5
McDSP ML4000 Native v5
McDSP Futzbox Native v5
McDSP DE555 Native v5
UVI Sparkverb
Wave Arts Tube Saturator
Wave Arts Master Verb
Wave Arts MultiDynamics
Wave Arts Track Plug
Wave Rider v3

Arrg, it seems like I'm going to take a bath trying to move all these. Anybody want to make me an offer for the lot that I can't refuse?

Some plugs can move for you with patients on eBay.

How much for CPTK2?

I could be in the market for another. I'm looking for an amazing deal.

PTHD 10/11 have sold for as low as 1100.00, I recently bought for 1250.00, but need a 2nd copy.

Check with the individual plugin companies. You may need permission to sell them first.

Please contact me privately at [email protected] I'm interested in the CPTK depending on your final asking price. Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, my copy of CPTK has already been sold.
