First, you should be asking in the LE forum, as the mBox2 is an LE interface. This forum is for Pro Tools MPowered, the PT software that runs on M-Audio hardware.

Second, to use all four inputs of the mBox2, you will need an additional A/D converter to connect to the S/PDIF digital input. There are a multitude of them, and you would have to choose one that meets your needs. (Line ins? Mic Pres? etc etc)

Here is my attempt.. I am gonna brush off dust on my my Roland VS 880. In case 21st Century has forgotten about this unit. It was a portable 8 Track 20 bit digital recorder - all in one. it has 2 GIG harddrive. and uses propriotery audio format that you really can't "download" it does have a SPIF/IO.

My MBox has SPDIF i/o... so in theory in addtion to the built in 2 XLR/TSR input, I can route the VS-880' output to MBox's digital in.. and I will end up 4+ tracks.. I am not sure how many tracks digital I/O can shoot.

I probably have to juggle the input settings in PTLE to make it recognize the addtional input.

If anyone has tried this ,,,or similar method please post.

mbox 2 : 4 inputs are possible...

mbox 1: 2 inputs is the maximum possible..
must choose spdif or analog in
