punch in track marks in real time?

I am recording dialogue and need to make track marks in real time while recording, and then use them to make a cd immediately after. Any help?

Select "auto name memory locations while playing" in prefs and you can hit "enter" when playing. Then, if your burning software supports it, you can tell it to use markers as tracks.

Make sure you use "enter" from the numeric keypad. The regular "enter" is RTZ.

Can you export files from the region bin and embed the markers? I dont think so. But you can "Export region definitions" to the audio file. That would enable you to use regions as track markers. Toast Titanium, at least, has this option. You’ll have to try it out.

You could try this:
(Make shure that all the audio is one continous file.)
1. Hit keypad enter to set markers.
2. Select marker 1 in the memory locations window and hit command-E to split the file. Select marker 2 and hit command-E, and so on, until you have a region for each CD track.
3. Select the whole-file and "Export region definitions" in the region bin.
4. Toast should now be able to ue the regions as track markers.

Might just work.

I have a question about track ID makers for a live audio recording.

I want to put ID markers on a CD for the individual tracks and still maintain the continuity of the audience applauses.

Can this be done with PTLE and Toast Titanium?

Would you please explain how this is done or point me towards the info?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I haven’t tried it but the method I mentioned above should work with this too.

- Have the audio be one continous file in PT. Consolidate if it’s not.
- Cut it up into regions.
- Select the file (dual mono) in the region bin, and "Export region defifitions".
- Drag the files (dual mono) to Toast and set it to use regions as tracks and set pauses to zero. (You should be able to preview it in Toast to see if it works.)

I normally use Waveburner to do this.
