HDX +192 won't play

Have a new HDX card, running 10.3.9 on osx 10.8 nehalem mac with blueface 192. Pro tools will not play- play button lights but is stopped like in prime. I've tried re-installing PT, every possible playback setting, still nothing. Any ideas?

Check plugins, trash prefs, make sure hdx is the playback engine.

Thanks, spent about 2 hrs just dicking around around trying every setting, trashing prefs and restarting.. finally decided to start working. thank god.

Looks like my problem lay with the blackmagic card I use- they aren't happy together. Really hope I don't have to ditch this and go with video satellite.. tried reinstalling BM drivers, tried both pcie slots- no luck.. anyone?

Just wanted to bump this in case anyone had any ideas out there- still having issues with playback with HDX card. Got it to work fine, then powered off my machine and no matter how many restarts of pro tools and mac couldn't get it to play again. Sometimes my meters light up all the way on some (empty) tracks. that's about it.. starting to think there might be an issue with the card itself. or it doesn't like my 192?

192's firmware comes to mind
might need to pull the BM card to get it to go through, also AJA cards are appearing to play better than BM cards across all applications

Thanks, I'm now quite certain it isn't the BM card- problem persists without it installed. I do think the 192 is the culprit- weird digital blasts, jumpy transport, no playback. I tried to upgrade the firmware, it's 3.0 and won't upgrade beyond that in the utility. I've heard there are newer versions of 192 with a v4.0 firmware. If this is true maybe this is why some people don't have any issues? just a hunch..
