Firmware update 2.0 to 2.0.1 fail. What now?
I never updated my ERXP from build 0.1.5.3 to 0.1.5.7. I never had an issue with the original install and figured if "it aint broke, don't fix it". Today I attempted to do the update(slow day here :)) and got the "1 seat used" message. Same computer used for the original install, Pro Tools 9 working with no problems, downloaded the firmware update file from my Avid account, entered my serial number and ID in the proper fields and got the fail message. What do I need to do now to get this update to work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What OS? If Windows, then make sure to uninstall IE9 first.

Re: Firmware update 2.0 to 2.0.1 fail. What now?
Thanks for the reply Benoni. I'm using the same computer with Windows 7 and IE8. The only changes have been the usual Windows updates, but nothing like a HD format or Windows reinstall. Like I said, since everything has been working well I didn't want to tweak anything. Maybe I should stop while i'm ahead.

Not sure if you remember, but the Auth process was a cluster truck for many people. They would buy the ERXP then be greeted with "Code Already used" errors. Avid 'fixed' the problem, but days later it started happening again. So - what I am saying is after you double check your end and confirm all numbers were entered correctly and you are connected to the net - if you still cannot update to 2.0.1, you need to contact Avid. You should for sure install 2.0.1 as it fixes an issue. I hope Avid rethinks their protection scheme next time. There are better ways to protect your products without making it a pain in the @ss for paying customers. Just email or call Avid, they will fix it for you.
