Default Scared to buy Pro Tools 9

So I eventually want to get the delay compensation feature and more instrument tracks for my template. Although I'm annoyed at the price, even when I am crossgrading from M-Powered 8 because it only has 2 features I want, I'm not very confident in buying it.

I'm not because whenever I visit these forums, someone has posted a "Pro Tools 9 issue". Pro Tools memory issue". "Pro Tools unstable" and blah blah blah.

Is PT 9 really that unstable? I had a damn nightmare with 8, which required me to reformat.

I'm on Windows 7 64bit Professional. With an i7 920 - QUAD - 2.67GHz - 24GB RAM.

If anyone can be bothered. I'd really like to here some positive feedback from anyone who has a great stable system, which then will make me more confident.

Thanks.

PS - If your system is stable, just say YES, you don't have to type anything else hehe.

I think alot of the instability you read about is probably more user related.

PT9 rock solid on Mac and a friend of mine does scoring in PT 9 all day on Win7 without issue.

So am I, but with a much less powerful Quadcore and only 8GB RAM. I've been using PT9 on an almost daily basis for several months and it's very stable. Only 2 crashes that I can recall, both of which occurred while I was editing in Melodyne Editor, which occasionally crashes Sonar on my system as well.

Buy with confidence. PT 9 is the most stable version of Pro Tools I've ever used. Most of the problems you hear about are isolated cases where the user has not set up their system correctly. You'd be surprised how many people just don't have the attention to detail or ability to stay on top of up to date plugins.

+1.
I've never been so satisfied with PT performance and stability before.

PT 9 is super stable.

Plus you get a lot more than just delay comp and more tracks.

:)

Great news guys. I'm very pleased from this feedback.

Just making sure because I'm working on a few projects right now, and having nightmares would just bring nothing but stress.

I think I shall buy!

Thanks again.

It depends on what you will do with it. If you are a hobbiest like most in here. You will have no problem. "Rock Solid"....lol
But if you use VI's and want to create you will have issues. If you push and want want more you will be disappointed. Until Pro Tools goes 64 bit I would wait.

Oh!

More confusion which I would like to clear up.

I was searching around the forum and I saw that someone mentioned a Pro Tools MP 9??

If I do the crossgrade from PT MP 8 to PT 9, does that mean I'm getting Pro Tools MP 9, or PT 9 full version? Because If i got MP 9, then I'd still have to use an M-Audio interface and I won't be able to create more tracks?
