Default auto input monitoring sometimes doesn't work

i posted about this a while back but never got a solution.

on 9.0.2 (and since 9.0 i have noticed this) with 002r, latest drivers.
intermittently when recording auto input monitoring will stop working. effectively i can hear both what's recorded on the track AND the input from the microphone until i punch in.

this doesn't happen all the time but once it starts it stays like that until i restart the computer or something. i'm always in the middle of a session with a performer when i notice it so i don't just stop and restart. i have to deal with the distraction.

i've been told that the crackles when punching in/out is a noted bug, that and the auto input thing are the bugs i'm experiencing.

any ideas? digi, are these know bugs? can i provide you with more information?

thanks,

SiSoftware Sandra

Default Re: auto input monitoring sometimes doesn't work

apparently the support code they gave me when i purchased PT9 is only good for 60 days.
that'll teach me to come to DUC and try to work out problems with their product before using up the time of the paid techs.

so if i'm going to pay money for them to fix auto input monitoring, low latency monitoring and punch point crackles, do i get my money back if they can't fix it?

and then the store page has PT HD for $80 and PT LE/M-powered for $40.
i don't have HD and i don't have LE or M-powered, i have 9.

i don't like to get cranky about this, and i'm usually one defending pro tools from the haters out there, but i'm getting upset. i feel like they're not standing behind this product. i mean, i paid for this upgrade to the new version. i love pro tools, and i love the new features, but now my low latency monitoring that i've relied on for some 8 years since i got my 002r doesn't work. i get crackles in the playback at punch in/out points. and sometimes auto input monitoring stops working right and the artist can hear themselves and their track at the same time before i punch them in. that's not how it's supposed to work and it's embarrassing to have to tell my clients
"sorry, we're gonna have to work through the distraction because the industry leader in DAW's isn't offering me support.

years ago i had a problem with my 002r and talked to tech support. it was easy back then, i didn't have an authorization number that expired or anything. i just got in touch with them and they worked through the hardware issue with me, and fixed it. i couldn't have been happier. what happened during the years of trouble free operation i've had leading up to PT 9?
