some help please
Hi,
I just bought a 003 rack+ factory and I´m planning on buying a Mac pro in the near future, but in the meantime I have a white macbook 2,2 GHz with 4 Gb Ram, snow leopard. This one however have the lucent/Agere FW chipset. I have seen that others have solved this problem by using an external firewire drive between the 003 rack and the macbook. My question, being new to both Protools and Mac, is which firewire drive should I get? ///Joakim |

Re: some help please
Glyph with dual FW400 ports is the best choice. My second fav are the OWC Mercury Elite and they can also be had with dual FW400 ports. Go here:
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firew...W800_FW400_USB and choose from the right hand column.

Re: some help please
The issue is what Mac are you going to purchase in the future. I have several FW400 drives I use for samples and storage the use my Glyph FW800/7200rpm for P.T sessions.
The problem was I then bought a new iMac which now only has 1 FW800 port. I had to get an adaptor to connect my 002R and daisy chain FW400 off the second port but nowhere to connect the Glyph. |
