Default Digi 002 rack and Mbox 2 Factory Bundle

Today I bought a Digi 002 Rack without the factory bundle because I already have an Mbox 2 Factory bundle, which I bought six months ago. Now that I've upgraded to the 002, as an afterthought I'm unsure as to how to go about using my factory bundle from the Mbox purchase with my Digi 002 and also download 7.3, if in fact I can. My concern is that the factory bundle specifically says Mbox 2 on the cd jacket, which implies it will install only with the Mbox 2.

This is how I'm thinking: If I install and register the LE software and ignition pack that came with the 002 I bought today, it may wipe out my existing factory bundle files when the new install creates its files. And if that happens, then I might not be able to reinstall the factory bundle because it is apparently only meant to install with Mbox2, as I mentioned above. I'm thinking that I may be able to just leave my current software setup as is and just hook up my 002. I think the software will recognize the 002, right? But if I do that, I might not be able to download 7.3 (I only have 7.0 now) because in order to register my 002 and be entitled to download the 7.3, I must instal and register the software that came with the 002. What it boils down to is that I'm not sure how the hardware and software interact in terms of limiting what I can install and load with my new purchase. Obviously, if I've already paid for a factory bundle, I should not have to buy the 002 with the factory bundle to use software I already own!

I appreciate any helpful suggestions. I'm new at digital recording and will attend a Pro Tools 101 class next month. In the meantime I could sure use some good advice because I've learned the hard way that sometimes once I make a move it sometimes can't be corrected easily. So I'll wait till I get some feedback before I do anything...

Thanks a lot!

Download the Mbox Factory installer for all Pro Tools 7.x systems from the Featured Downloads plug-in section in Support & Downloads. Those 5 plug-ins included with the Mbox Factory (same as the Producer Factory) bundle will work with any Pro Tools 7.x system on Mac or Windows.

What he said. The only diffenence in the factory bundles is what is included. The 002/R models get a few extra plugs over the MBox. But the plug-ins themselves have to do with PT and not the hardware.
